Hello! I am so glad that you are here! My name is Lauren and I have been creating art for over 30 years! After a break to tackle motherhood and the every day, I picked up the brush again and haven’t looked back! My art is a reflection of my roots! I am a “local girl” who lives in the same little town of Sneads Ferry that I was born in. My family are all commercial fishermen and have been for many generations. My Mother is the master of creativity and has always encouraged me to do what I love and be good at it.

My coastal-inspired watercolor art consists mostly of fishing vessels and scenic views that can only be experienced here in Eastern North Carolina. From time to time, you’ll see a painting that is inspired by my love for Christ. My story begins and ends with Him and I love to rise before the rest of the house and read my Bible. That often leads me to painting something that is on my heart and those are my favorite mornings.

My Husband is a retired Marine Veteran, I have four amazing kids, I teach 6th grade and hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. I own and operate Koi.b Collective in Jacksonville, NC where I offer art workshops and classes in my studio. You can also check out my art on my website!

I am so excited to have partnered with Hug a Hero to offer transitional art coaching to military families as they navigate tough transitions and deployments. As a military spouse, I understand the challenges that arise from the lifestyle and have been committed to helping Veterans and their families for nearly a decade. My husband and I created Operation Barnabas in North East Florida to combat some of those challenges and we continue those efforts here in Eastern North Carolina and beyond. I am excited to bring my experience to the Jacksonville area!

I love creating pieces to share with others and truly believe that you are always most successful at what you love doing. This year, I am pursuing that.

I hope you enjoy my art! Please feel free to reach out with any questions that you may have! I look forward to meeting you! Stop by the studio anytime!
